April 16, 2012, Fountain Valley, CA—SUPRA announced the release of two new, dynamic makeups of the Owen, the first lightweight shoe from SUPRA:

Royal blue mesh, royal blue microfiber, and neon accents sit atop a neon EVA sole with royal blue traction pods.

Grey mesh, black microfiber, red accents on a white EVA sole with black traction pods.

“At only 200 grams,” Hypebeast wrote, “the SUPRA Owen is practically lighter than air.”

The Owen is the first lightweight shoe from SUPRA, now available in nine styles. A 100% synthetic mesh upper with microfiber reinforcements reduces weight and improves breathability. Durable, looped nylon webbing is used for the lacing system, and a rear heel pull tab, in conjunction with custom, lightweight rope laces, makes for quick and easy cinching. The shoe features an ultra light, compression molded EVA SUPRAFOAM® sole. The rubber pods on the contact areas offer traction and even distribution of impact across the sole.

Since opening our doors for business in 2004, Patta has emerged as the flagship boutique of Amsterdam and made a name for itself in the European streetwear scene. The combination of Patta on the first floor paired with Ben G Skateshop on ground level provided a unique shopping location in the capital of The Netherlands. In addition, the Precinct 5 boutique was established in 2009 inside an old police station, serving as a sophisticated extension to Patta. Both stores have been popular destinations for both local and travelling sneaker enthusiasts, street culture devotees, fashion patrons and the like.

Entering our 8th year, we have experienced organic growth and encountered change in market conditions both in store as well as online. The townhouse-like Patta retail space has been utilized to its maximum extent possible, reaching a point where it has become necessary to physically further our growth. Our sights have now been set on expansion and to achieve this challenging experience, we have decided to accomplish this expansion through integration.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce that Patta and Precinct 5 will join together and merge into one unique retail setting at the Precinct 5 location and continue the venture under the Patta identity. Ben G shall remain at the current location, providing the finest selections in skateboarding-related hardware, footwear and apparel, while the old police station will house and offer the Patta clothing brand, selected footwear, premium apparel, accessories and the official Amsterdam Stüssy Chapter store. As Patta we will be offering a new shopping experience and higher level of customer satisfaction, all conveniently under one roof.

PATTA and PRECINCT 5 will be closed from APRIL 18-20.
We will reopen on APRIL 21 at the new location with a grand stock sale.

Salehe Black Artist, Footwear Designer and all around good guy, is a friend I am lucky to have known before his come up into the art world as well as the footwear industry. Introduced to me by a common friend Ian , Salehe always displayed a talent and passion for the game that was rare in todays current hipster culture. After 5 straight games of LINsanity, I was LINspired to do this print. This series was inspired by the World Basketball Festival illustrations of a couple of summers ago. Having been a Knicks fan since ’92, I can say that what is happening right now is not normal. I’m not totally convinced, but he has my attention.
